First Thomas Edison Supernova Award in the Old North State Council

Michael Willett, a Boy Scout in Troop 527 of Asheboro, NC has just received approval for his completion of the Thomas Edison (Silver) Supernova Award! This is the first Silver Supernova Award to be approved in the Old North State Council. Michael was also the recipient of the first Bernard Harris (Bronze) Supernova Award in the council. Both awards are only available to registered Boy Scouts who have earned Nova Awards and various STEM-related merit badges, along with several other requirements including projects and a presentation to a Cub Scout pack or den on a STEM topic or activity.

Michael Willett led an exciting activity for the Cub Scouts called the “Build-A-Fizz Inflator. Check out the video here: Build-A-Fizz Inflator.
